I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. I will build you up again and you will be rebuilt. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. I will call you ‘my people’ who are not my people; and I will call you ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one. As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will I rejoice over you.
Show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely. How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful!
You will be a crown of splendor in my hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God. You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride. How delightful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume than any spice!
No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called My Delight Is In Her, and your land Married; for I will take delight in you, and your land will be married.
Where are they? Has no-one condemned you? Then neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin. No-one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is your heritage, and this is your vindication from me, declares the Lord. Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
